Funeral services for Annie Mae Jones Perkins, 100, of Whigham, Ga., are at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Trinity Primitive Baptist Church, Whigham, Ga. Elder Franklin Bryant, Elder Dwight Marshall and Elder Jon Mizell will officiate. A private family interment will be in Trinity Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Whigham, Ga. Mrs. Perkins passed away at her home on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Pyles, Bobby Perkins, Jr., Scott Trulock, Jerrod Trulock, Rich Lane, Lafe Perkins and Jacob Pyles. Honorary pallbearers will be male members of Trinity Primitive Baptist Church.

Mrs. Perkins was born on August 19, 1921, in Climax, Ga., to the late Harvey Lewis “Sam” Jones and Mamie Eudoxie Ulmer Jones. On March 22, 1946, she married Tommie Abner Perkins, who preceded her in death on June 24, 2008. Mrs. Perkins was a beloved matriarch of her family, church and community. She is remembered for her kind, loving and generous spirit, as well as her steadfast faith in the Lord. Mrs. Perkins spent her life working hard on the farm, tending to an abundant vegetable garden and growing beautiful flowers. She loved to go fishing and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Mrs. Perkins was well-known for her homemade biscuits, chicken and dumplings and pear tarts. Mrs. Perkins dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of her family. She shaped the lives of so many and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include: her children, Dian Pyles (Thomas) of Whigham, Ga., Bobby Perkins (Esther) of Staunton, Va., Jane Trulock (George) of Whigham, Ga. Judy Lane (Richard) of Thomasville, Ga., Sammy Perkins (Terri) of Whigham, Ga.; grandchildren, Jason Pyles of Whigham, Ga., Jennifer Eanes (Brad) of Christiansburg, Va., Bobby Perkins, Jr. (Abby) of Staunton, Va., Scott Trulock (Jana) of Whigham, Ga., Jerrod Trulock of Whigham, Ga., Rich Lane (Jessica) of Dixie, Ga., Brooke Murray (Craig) of Atlanta, Ga., Lafe Perkins (Haley) of Whigham, Ga., Samatha Willis (Tommy) of Lexington, Ky.; great-grandchildren, Jacob Pyles, Madi Pyles, Rylee Trulock, Kayli Trulock, Everett Groeneveld, Lorelei Trulock, Kimber Lane, Hudson Lane, Wyatt Murray, Samuel Perkins, III, Harper Julia Perkins, Lilliann Gray Willis; sisters, Dorothy Dalton of Calvary, Ga., Sara Mauldin of Brunswick, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; infant daughter; grandson, Garrett Tommie Pyles; brothers, Harold Jones, Lewis Jones, Amos Jones; and sisters, Margaret Smith, Christine Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Perkins’ memory to: Trinity Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Sammy Perkins, 429 Cleon Waldrop Road, Whigham, GA 39897.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to her caregivers, Kayla Pearson, Virginia White, Latishia Bell, Jean Champagne, Tonya Harrell and Lyn Cox.

The family will receive family and friends at the home of Jane and George Trulock in Whigham, Ga. The family will receive friends at Trinity Primitive Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
