Jeff Ellis, 59, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Friday, January 21, 2022.

The memorial service was held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Connection Church with Pastor Ken Davidson officiating.

Jeffrey Vernon Ellis was born June 12, 1962, in Columbus, Ga., the son of Vernon & Sandra Watkins Ellis. He was a graduate of Jordan High School. Jeff worked at the public library while in Columbus. After moving to Decatur County thirty-some-odd years ago, Jeff worked at Georgia Factory for the Blind and as a DJ for WMGR. He was a member of Connection Church.

Music was definitely Jeff’s vibe. He loved playing the drums and all sorts of electronics. He was constantly fiddling with something to make it sound a little better. Working at the radio station meant Jeff got to do what he loved all day long, and he enjoyed every minute of it. He had quite a sense of humor and tickled himself so much that he would call folks just to share his latest joke.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Shelia Jones Ellis; his parents, Vernon Jack & Martha Ann Ellis of Columbus; his siblings, Lafawn Nelson and Michelle Ellis, also of Columbus; and a host of extended family. Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra W. Strickland; and his sister, Rhonda Gentry.
