Martha Henry Davis was born January 18, 1942, in Brinson, Ga., the daughter of George & Leaunna Sandlin Davis. She was a graduate of Brinson High School. She married Marvin Blevins and they made their home in Brinson. Martha was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Miss Martha was known to family and friends as “the woman in red”. She enjoyed shopping and found that jewelry was the perfect accessory, so she shopped for those statement pieces…ALL THE TIME. (In fact, she was on a first name basis with every delivery driver in the area and probably offered them snacks when they stopped at her house.) Martha loved music especially southern gospel. She sang and played the piano. For a number of years, she was the pianist at Pine Grove. She never forgot a face and her sweet spirit left you feeling like family. Martha loved everyone and cherished the time she spent with family of all designations particularly the grandchildren. When she was able, she would give you a run for your money on a fishing trip returning with a smile behind the story.

Survivors include her children, Kimberly & Teddy Smith and Travis & Tanyah Blevins, all of Brinson; her grandchildren, Brianna, MaHaylee, and Macy; and a host of extended family. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Marvin D. Blevins; and her sisters, Peggy Thomas and Mae McDowell.
