Local XC Teams race at DW Invitational

This past Saturday, the Bainbridge Middle School and High School cross country teams, along with the Grace Christian Academy team, competed at the Deerfield-Windsor Invitational in Albany. The invitational consisted of a middle school boy’s and girl’s 3,200 meter run, varsity boy’s and girl’s 5K runs, and a mixed JV 5K.

For Middle School Boys, GCA’s Walker Elrod, who came in 2nd for the first time this season at the previous race, reclaimed 1st place, coming in with a time of 10:27.36. Bainbridge Middle School’s Corbin Thompson came in 17th, with a time of 12:16.39; he was followed by GCA’s Henry Lee, who came in 20th with a time of 12:18.58; and Bainbridge Middle School’s Gambler Dollar, who placed 21st with a time of 12:19.85. Elrod time was a new personal record.

GCA placed 14th overall, followed by Spring Creek Charter Academy in 18th.

For Middle School Girls, Bainbridge Middle School’s Teagan Barefoot came in 15th with a time of 14:22.03; she was followed by Caroline Maxwell of BMS, who placed 19th, with a time of 14:44.43.

BMS placed 5th overall in the Middle School Girls division.

For High School Boys, BHS’ Landon Watts came in 8th place, with a time of 17:33.70. This was also a new personal record for Watts.

BHS placed 10th overall, followed by GCA in 16th.

In the High School Girl’s division, BHS’ Haydyn Klock came in 38th with a time of 25:01.72; Kayla Braswell from BHS came in 70th with a time of 28:42.58; and BHS’ Allison Oliver came in 111th at 37:24.18.

In the mixed JV run, GCA’s Keith Eidson came in 7th place, with a time of 20:37.20.

The next cross-country run is scheduled at the Tifton ABAC campus this weekend.
