One treatment for COVID-19 that is now being utilized for those with mild to moderate COVID cases is a monoclonial antibody infusion. MainStreet Family Care and KidsStreet are now offering these infusions, specifically the Regen-Cov antibody treatment, at their clinic.

According to their official website, the treatment involves an infusion of cultivated antibodies that specifically target COVID-19. Drugs used in the infusion are casirivimab and imdevimab. Treatment requires two hours, one for the infusion itself, another for observation for potential side effects or reactions, which include fever, chills, weakness, diarrhea, vomiting, and headaches, just to name a few.

Betsy Stewart, chief sales marketing officer for MainStreet, spoke to the Post Searchlight about the treatment. “This is something we’re proud to be able to offer to Bainbridge,” she said.

According to her, they have lately been giving 90 infusions a day across MainStreet’s regional locations, usually giving eight a day at Bainbridge, and between 10 and 12 on their busiest days.
Again, this treatment is for mild to moderate COVID cases; if a person is negative, according to Stewart, it is the provider’s decision to recommend the treatment. Anyone seeking to receive the treatment must bring proof of a positive COVID test. Stewart also recommended scheduling appointments in advance, due to the amount of treatments in a single day.
