The Bainbridge Walk to End Alzheimer’s to be held Saturday, October 23rd, is less than nine weeks away. Many of the individuals in our community know someone who has Alzheimer’s, has lost someone to the disease, has been a caregiver or simply wants to support the search for a cure. Plans are to host the in-person event downtown on the Square while following safety protocols and state guidance for outdoor events.

There are currently 13 teams registered and the planning team is hoping for many more. The ALZ event organizers encourage businesses, churches, civic organizations, families and other groups to host a team and raise monies for the cause. Should an individual have questions feel free to contact Thea Burke (220-6104) or Kathy Varner (220-7169)

Once one joins a team, ALZ provides tools for fundraising, sending emails, Facebook fundraisers and more. An individual can join independently of a group, join an existing team or create a team. If you have team questions, contact Missy Belcher (missythrives@gmail.com or 229 205-1621).

All funds raised further the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer Association. The goal for Bainbridge set by the ALZ organization is $27,000. Each registered participant will receive a Promise Garden flower and can choose the color that most closely reflects their connection. All registrants who raise more than $100 at least four weeks prior to the event will receive a T-shirt. To register go to act.alz.org/Banbridge. Jump onboard and register for the ALZ walk today!
