Mr. Perry Latham Rykard passed away on August 5, 2021, at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Georgia. Mr. Rykard was born on June 4, 1963, to Hazel Louise Hooks Burbridge and the late Cecil Maurice Rykard, Sr. A graveside service to honor his life was held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham, Georgia. Rev. DeWitt Phillips officiated with Maurice Rykard, Glenn Rykard, Danny Harris, Carl Harris, Mike Nola, Thomas Bowman and Kenneth Rykard serving as honorary pallbearers.

In accordance with State of Georgia guidelines concerning the Covid-19 pandemic, those attending were asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing and to wear protective masks.

Perry worked in the retail business managing convenience stores.  He enjoyed watching television and was known for his great sense of humor and his ability to tell a good joke.

He is survived by his mother, Hazel Burbridge of Whigham, as well as his siblings, Maurica Rykard of Whigham, and Cecil Maurice (Connie) Rykard, Jr. of Cairo.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Rykard of Cairo; half-brother, Kenneth (Angie) Rykard of Eufaula, Alabama; step-mother, Mary Alice Rykard Parsons of Eufaula; and step-siblings Allen (Susi) Phillips of Nuremberg, Germany, DeWitt (Debra) Phillips of Bainbridge, Georgia, Teresa (Eddie) Spooner of Attapulgus, Georgia, and Tommy (Regina) Phillips of Dothan, Alabama. Cousins who survive Mr. Rykard are Janey (Mike) Nola of Tallahassee, Florida, Robin (Jeffery) Mobley of Whigham, Danny (Julie) Harris, Jr. of Whigham, and Carl (Candy) Harris of Bainbridge, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nephews.

Mr. Rykard was predeceased by his father, Cecil Maurice Rykard, Sr., his brother, Maurice Glenn Rykard, and stepbrother, Jerry Phillips, Jr.
