Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) secured $1 million for the City of Bainbridge in the Fiscal Year 2022 Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, which was approved on Friday by the House Appropriations Committee and will soon be considered by the U.S. House of Representatives. The funds will be used for water and wastewater infrastructure as part of an industrial park project to bring business and jobs to Bainbridge.

“Infrastructure projects like these lay the groundwork for new jobs and will allow new businesses to call Bainbridge home. I am happy that this bill includes $1 million to help build an industrial park that will create new opportunities and promote commerce as well as economic development in Southwest Georgia,” said Congressman Bishop.

“Congressman Bishop has worked tirelessly to increase opportunities for the businesses that operate in and the people who live in our region. This $1,000,000 is critical to building our new industrial park which will welcome new companies like Danimer Scientific to our community,” said Bainbridge Mayor Edward Reynolds. “Congressman Bishop has once again demonstrated his leadership and his commitment to the betterment of Bainbridge and Southwest Georgia. The task of attracting new jobs and investment to our region is made much easier by having Congressman Sanford Bishop on our team!”
