David Mathews

David Mathews, age 41, of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., formerly of Iron City, Ga. passed away suddenly April 5, 2021 at Stoney Brooke Hospital in Ronkonkoma, N.Y.

David was a kind, gentle man who loved the outdoors, GA Bulldogs, and his family.  He would always get a gleam in his eyes when he spoke of his children.

David is survived by his mother, Vera Powell Mathews (Mark Olds) of Bainbridge, Ga.; his three children, Lauren, Brandon, and Megan of New York and their mother, Christine Mathews; his aunts, Joy Powell Bland of Donalsonville, Ga., Debra McClendon (Russell) and Darlene Morris (Jim) of Iron City, Ga.; one uncle, Roy Powell of Donalsonville, Ga.; and his fiancé, Victoria Mikromastords of New York.

He was preceded in death by his dad, David Earl Mathews, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Powell; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mathews; and his uncles, Dale Mathews and Percy Bland.

Nassau-Suffolk Crematory in Ronkonkoma, N.Y. is in charge of arrangements.
