Sarah Frances Knight was born November 9, 1930 in Climax, Ga., the daughter of Cuy Abner Knight, Sr. and Missouri Taylor Knight. She was a graduate of Climax High School. She married Cecil D. Harrison in 1953 and spent her life building a home and serving churches with her husband. Sarah was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Fla.

“Miss” Sarah knew a home was very different than a house. She spent her life building a home filled with love. She was a fantastic cook, and there was always talk about the favorite dishes: fried chicken, fried turkey breast, chocolate pound cake, cookies, and fresh apple cake. She spent time daily reading her Bible, watching Hallmark channel, and loved her Sunday School Class. “Miss” Sarah mailed cards consistently to remind her family and friends they were special to her, although, the grandchildren needed no reminders of their “special” status.

Survivors include her children, Del & Susan Harrison of Tallahassee, Myron & Tammy Harrison of Tallahassee, Sandra & Gary Bales of Thomasville, Phil & Angie Harrison of Tallahassee, Debbie & Mark McKenzie of Thomasville, and Brenda & Billy Swords of Norman Park; her siblings, Eldra Cutchens of South Carolina, Latrelle & Max Coggins of Ponte Vedra, Fla., and Durwood & Carol Knight of Cahutta, Ga.; and her nineteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rev. Cecil D. Harrison; and her siblings, Cuy Knight, Jr., Jerry Knight, and Carolyn Harrison.
