Mr. Dennis Keith Jones, age 62, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.  A service to honor Dennis will be held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, January 28, Maranatha Baptist Church, 3416 Thomasville Road, Climax, Georgia.  The Rev. Tim Dean will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 5:00.

In accordance with State of Georgia guidelines concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing and to wear protective masks.

Dennis Keith Jones was born March 20, 1958 in Bainbridge, Georgia.  His parents, Dee Lindley Jones and Emma Jo Mims Jones, have preceded him in death.  Dennis worked in different areas of public safety.  He was a Bainbridge police officer and, later, a probation officer.   Dennis was a member of Norlina Baptist Church in Norlina, North Carolina.  He loved his Lord and church.  From Sunday School teacher to chairman of deacons, he was dedicated to serve.  Dennis loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting and, especially, fishing.  His children and grandchildren were his heart.  Dennis was most happy sharing the outside and hunting and fishing with his children and their children.  Scuba diving was a passion of his.  He taught classes so others could learn to love scuba diving as he did.  A “collector”, he would take his metal detector and head out to look for treasure.  Dennis Keith Jones will be deeply missed by his many friends and the family he loved so very much.
