Trela Rogerson, 63, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Friday, November 27, 2020.

A private funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with President Gil Valter, Dr. Stan Webb, Ryan Cleveland and John Childree officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Trela’s grandchildren serving as active pallbearers. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Trela Sue Alter was born March 12, 1957 in Marion, Ind. the daughter of Grover M Alter, Jr. and Laura Cole Alter. She was a staffing recruiter for Manpower Group and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Trela was active in her church serving as the teacher for primary ages and the young women’s classes. She worked in the Women’s Relief Society and also served as den mother for the Boy Scouts.

Trela was a proud American believing the foundation was family. Her family always took priority and she invested in their lives. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, and sewing. Trela has been described as that person who started a project with a bang but didn’t always see it through. She had a heart for helping others and felt her job was one way she could make a difference.

Survivors include her children, Holley Morris Roberts and Erick D. Morris (Susan) all of Bainbridge, Benjamin James Morris (Jackie) of Dalton, Ga., Stephen Rogerson (Jy) also of Bainbridge, Chief Petty Officer USN Nathaniel S. Rogerson (Cassie), of Silver Dale, Wash.; and Heather Rogerson Snow of Bainbridge; her brother, Donald Resler; her grandchildren, Emory, Blair, Kayla, Samantha, Devin, Tyler, Megan, Jackson, Katelyn, Melody, Joe, Ellie Jane, and Wesley; and her great-grandchildren, Leighanna, Braxton, Caden, Jaxx, and Colby. In addition to her parents, Trela was preceded in death by her brother, Ken Resler.
