Clifford Owen Mills, Sr., 61, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Monday, November 16, 2020.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 at New Enterprise Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Harrell officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Clifford Owen Mills, Sr. was born September 5, 1959 in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Hubert Mills and Martha Lee Owens Mills. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Cliff worked as a truck driver for Sexton Farms.

Cliff was laid back and easy going. He made friends with all sorts of people from all sorts of places and treated everyone the same. Family was a high priority, and he felt providing for them was his most important job. Cliff enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and tinkering on most anything. Semi-trucks were his expertise. He could drive them, work on them, talk about them, and teach you all about them.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Tonya Mills; his children, Starrissa Mugg and her husband, Lt. Col. Patrick Mugg, of Fayetteville, N.C., Clifford Owen Mills II of Mount Airy, N.C., and Courtney Mills of Bainbridge, Ga.; his mother and step-father, Martha & L.D. Miller; his siblings, Kathy (Irby) Gilder of Catuala, Ga., Kay (Jack) Cothren of Albany, Ga., and Tawanna (Jimmy) Drake of Donalsonville, Ga.; his granddaughter, Sierra; and several nieces and nephews.

Cliff was preceded in death by his father and his brother, William Mills.
