Linda Susan Butler was born September 2, 1949 in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of “Jack” and Annie Henley Butler. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School. Linda married Mark Darley in 1986 and they made their home in Decatur County. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Linda was amazingly easy going. She never met a stranger and loved everybody, especially her grandchildren. A storyteller, and considered the family comedian, Linda may or may not have told a few tall tales about the ones that got away. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, and watching the flowers bloom. Every single night she had a little taste of butter pecan ice cream. (Linda said it made her have sweet dreams.) “Dressing up” with her hair and makeup to the nines provided plenty of commentary for her children though her true beauty was found in her heart.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Mark Darley; her children, Stacey Bryan Darley (Nancy), Dena Susan Darley, Kristen Marci Darley, and Amber Ciarra Darley, all of Bainbridge; her siblings, Joe (Karol) Butler, Bruce (Cinda) Butler, and Carolyn (Dee) Conley; her grandchildren, Butler, Ashlie, Halie, Dylan, Brittany, and Daniel; her great-grandchildren, Ethan, Aiden, Emmett, and Thad; and her beloved dogs, Georgia & Ranger. Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
