Over the past few years, Georgia has seen an influx of Hollywood productions filming in the state, from “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” to “Avengers: Endgame,” thanks to rather lucrative tax breaks. Many of the bigger productions film in Atlanta; however, a much smaller production is coming to southwest Georgia. Its name is “LOST/FOUND.”

Hardly a traditional big Hollywood production, the project is an anthology web series funded by a Kickstarter. As of the writing of this article, it sits at $5,521 in funding, out of a goal of $10,500. The series is a joint production between Outjogging Pictures, a small production company based in Alabama, and Rachel Hoiles Farrell, a writer published in Virginia Quarterly Review and Jezebel, to name a few.

Filming is set to begin next year in Whigham, with Farrell as writer, Brian Christopher White as director and starring Atlanta actor Ricky Jordan II. According to the Kickstarter, the official plot synopsis is as follows:
“In Season 1, a novelist finishing his book at an Airbnb in rural Georgia finds his work interrupted when a storm hits and a tornado drops an iron lung into the backyard. The worst part? There’s a woman inside it. When emergency personnel fail to retrieve the victim, the writer struggles to safeguard the deceased from pestilence and rain until help arrives, all while maintaining a precarious grip on his own sense of reality.”

Kickstarter funding is an all-or-nothing affair, with all profits raised being forfeited if the goal is not met by the predicted deadline. The deadline for the project is set as December 4, 2020.
