Mildred Ann Ingram was born May 17, 1930 in Ashford, Ala., the daughter of Gussie and Lillie Whitworth Ingram. She married W.S. Howell, Jr. and they made their home in Southwest Georgia. Mildred was a member of Sylvania United Methodist Church.

Described as always happy, Mildred’s sweet spirit drew others in. She was known to “adopt” her children’s friends and treated them as her own. Mildred freely shared her own life lessons and never failed to include “I love you” in the conversation. She loved anything pink, ice cream, Gunsmoke, chocolate cake, and The Weather Channel. Through the years, Mildred sewed, cooked and quilted her way right into the special memories her family and friends share. She paid attention to detail and was grateful for the coloring pages and composition books she filled with her thoughts in more recent years.

Survivors include her children, Wallace Howell and his wife, Rhonda, of Bainbridge, and Joan H. Broxton and her husband, Greg, of Mayhaw, Ga.; her daughter-in-law, Karen Howell and son-in-law, Gwan Garrison; her brother, Donald Ingram and his wife, Florine, of Cairo, Ga.; and her fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, W.S. Howell, Jr.; her children, Freddie Howell and Judy Garrison; and thirteen brothers and sisters.
