Bobby Ray Cloud, 82, of Vada, Ga., passed away Monday, October 5, 2020.

A private funeral service will be held at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Cloud and Pastor Sonny Cloud officiating.  Interment will be at Oak Grove Christian Church Cemetery with Dr. Armand Cognetta, Dr. Laurence Rosenberg, Terry Duane Tate, Aaron Wimberly, Mike Wimberly, Derry Tate, and Danny Dollar serving as active pallbearers. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Bobby Ray Cloud was born March 26, 1938 in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Noah and Flora King Cloud. He attended West Bainbridge High School and worked as an electrician retiring from Amoco Fabrics & Fibers. Bobby was a member of Beulah Thomas Baptist Church.

Faith, family and fishing were Bobby’s priorities. His faith was strong and he shared his testimony of how God saw him through over 600 skin cancer surgeries since he was 19 years old. Bobby had a heart for others and cared deeply for their well-being. His story always began with, “You need to wear a hat.” He enjoyed spending time with his family and knew the importance of making every moment count.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lanelle Thompson Cloud; his daughter, Sundee Tate; his grandchildren, Kacee, Derry, and Kerri Ann; and his great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Kason. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents.
