Tim McLaughlin recently passed away unexpectedly after drowning while out fishing. Now, Bainbridge Church of God has put together a fundraiser to help the McLaughlin family with the expenses they have incurred.

BCOG will be hosting a softball tournament fundraiser at Bill Reynolds Sports Park on October 10, 2020, beginning at 8 a.m.

The idea stemmed when some of the church members got together to remember McLaughlin.

McLaughlin was the church softball team coach and many of his players, including Courtney Allen feel like this is the perfect way to honor his family and memory.

“If anyone knew Tim, he was an outstanding guy,” Allen said. “He welcomed me onto the team with open arms, so I think it would be great if everyone could get out there and show their love and support for his family.”

Allen said McLaughlin’s wife seems to be doing well, despite her sudden loss, but believes this will bring her joy.

The tournament will be a double elimination game and be open to a maximum of 10 teams.

Allen said the teams can be all female, male or co-ed and the cost is $200 entry fee per team. In addition, on tournament day teams can purchase homerun bands for $10 a piece. Each team will be limited to 3 bands per game. The church will also be selling $5 raffle tickets on the day of the tournament. Allen said several businesses have donated items, so people can buy tickets for individual items or put their tickets in a raffle for everything.

Allen said four teams have already signed up, but to please contact her to join in this great cause for a special family. To register call 229-220-7274.
