Bainbridge Public Safety is pleased to announce that on Friday, September 18, Officer Matt Kornegay, Officer Gaston Corson, Cadet Deonta Dismuke, and Cadet Michael Faircloth successfully completed and graduated from the 345 hour Basic Firefighter Class 20-3 at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, Georgia!

We are also thrilled to share that Cadet Deonta Dismuke was awarded the PINNACLE AWARD by the Georgia Fire Academy!   This award is given to the individual who demonstrates the true meaning of what it means to be a firefighter.

Earning this award is quite prestigious, as it shows that Dismuke has demonstrated self-sacrifice and an unending need to assist his fellow firefighters.

The Basic Firefighter Class 20-3 began on July 27th with 13 members and is one of only a few classes in Fire Academy history that can boast of having all original members successfully complete the training which includes both classroom-based lectures and practical skill-building sessions.

Cadets Dismuke and Faircloth enjoyed a few days at home in Bainbridge before leaving this morning to continue their endeavors at the Georgia Police Academy where they will train until December 11th.

Fire Chief Doyle Welch stated, “We are very proud of these four men and all they have accomplished, and we send lots of luck to Cadets Dismuke and Faircloth as they continue their goal of becoming certified law enforcement officers at the Georgia Police Academy.”
