Thomas Durward Foister, 89, of Camilla, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home in Bainbridge.

Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 25 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. David Pickering will officiate.

Born December 12, 1930, in Decatur County, Mr. Foister was the son of the late Tom Foister and Bessie Harrell Foister.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist faith.  Mr. Foister was a carpenter, farmer, and rural mail carrier.  He was owner and operator of Scotland Supply Co. for over 20 years.  Mr. Foister was a true southern gentleman. He was a very unselfish, loyal, and generous friend.  He loved his family dearly and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Betty Singleton Foister; daughters, Pam Dean (Kerry) and Cindy Foister;  son, Scott Foister (Kim); brother, Robert A. “Bobby” Foister;  grandchildren, Josh Dean, Nikki Burch (Bryan), Ashley Burtt (Ryan), Tyler Foister (Caroline);  great grandchildren, Dean Burch, Avey Burch, Anna Kate Burtt, and Patrick Burtt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5008 Vada Rd., Climax, Ga. 39834.
