L. Wayne Cutchens, 88, died on August 31, 2020 while in Hospice Care in Anderson, SC.

He is survived by his wife, Eldra Cutchens (Knight) of 68 years of marriage; his daughter, Sherry Watson and her husband, Richard Watson of Seneca, SC ; his daughter, Marsha Fowler and her husband, Daniel Fowler of Lawrenceville, Ga.; his grandson, Jeremy Watson and his son, Nathaniel Watson of Cheyenne, WY; his grandson, Jonathan Watson, his wife, Betsy Watson and their daughter, Raelan Watson of Rutledge, Ga.

He is preceded in death by his brother J.F. Cutchens, his brother, Carole Cutchens, and his sister, Mavis Simmons.

He was born on March 22, 1932 in Whigham, Ga. to parents Joseph Terrell Cutchens, his father, and Thelma Marie Cutchens, his mother. He graduated from Athens College with a degree in Accounting and worked the majority of his career with the Federal Government.

He was a devoted family man, successful in his career; intent on providing well for his family, and never lost sight of his roots growing up in the country on a farm. His family and friends will miss him dearly along with his strength, smile, and love of “John Wayne”.
