Vincent Dewitt Edmond, 62, of Attapulgus, Ga. passed away Monday, August 10, 2020. Funeral services were held at Bethel A.M.E. Cemetery of Attapulgus on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

Dewitt as he was affectionately called was born November 7, 1957, to the late James Edmond Sr. and Totsie B. Swain Edmond. At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined Bethel A.M.E. Church where he served as Trustee and in various capacities. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High in 1975. He attended Savannah State College in Savannah, Ga. He met and married his middle school sweetheart Patricia Johnson Edmond, nine years of courtship and 41 years of marriage (50 years). To this union three children were born. Dewitt was a hard worker and a good provider for his family. He worked at the Sulphur Plant, ITT, United Plastic, Chipola Cook and Engelhard.

Dewitt enjoyed watching television, his favorites were The Greatest Story Ever Told of The Bible, Shaw Shank Redemption and Star Trek. He loved watching all the Dallas Cowboys and Florida State University games. He was quiet, gentle, caring and loved to smile. He loved to be around family. He took such good care of his lovely mother. His “Trish the Dish”, Baby Girl Jaz, those young men of his and especially the grandchildren. In his past time he enjoyed mowing and driving the tractor with little Brodie. He helped out in the neighborhood.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving mother: Totsie B. Edmond, devoted wife: Patricia J. Edmond, children: Richo S. Kelly of Tallahassee, Fl., Joseph J. Edmond (Phan) of Cairo, Ga., Vincent J. Edmond of Bainbridge, Ga. and Jasmyn J. Edmond of Attapulgus; grandchildren: Venice J., Cayden J., Jasrick J., Jade J., Brodie J., and Emma J. A loving sister, Mercedes E. Jones (Steven). Aunts and uncles, Artice Mack, John Jones (Minnie), Shedrick Swain, Lucy Swain, Shirley Wright, Annie D. Harrison, Tommie Swain (Gloria), Sandra Swain, Joe Laster, Julia Grant and H.G. Harrell; In laws Alma Manning (Calvin), Jimmy Johnson (Audrey) and Pearl Johnson; nieces and nephews: Monica, Steven, Cortney, Arleena, Amber, Jeremiah, Isaiah, and Asyah. Other nieces and nephews: Ashli, Mario, CC (Geshonda), Kaitlyn, Amahri, Jimmy Jr., Reggie, Jerverious (Julie), Jada, Jalah, Josiah, Shon, Cheynne, Chase, Rosido, Jace, Jalina and Jalin. His cousins are like his brothers and sisters. God daughter, Danyelle Larkin, special daughter: Cassonya Johnson, special cousins Alex and Rose Mack; special and dear friends: Al and Myra Evans, Frank and Loretta Harrell, Georga and Dianne Washington, Willie Flowers, Willie Pearson, Robert Scott, Maxine Cohens, George Carter, Freddie Mitchell and Walter Smith.

He leaves to cherish a host of cousins, classmates and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Edmond and his brother, James Edmond Jr.

Dewitt, Papa, Dad, Pumpkin, Deisel, Que Golden Child and Sweetie you will be sorely missed.
