The Bainbridge Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be different this year.  Although the pandemic prohibits all walkers gathering together that morning, there will still be people who “walk everywhere” together or alone to fight for a cure.

This year the walk will be on every sidewalk, track and trail across the country as people travel the trails of their choice.

This year’s event will be held Saturday, October 24th. and walkers are being sought individually or as a small team. To register for participation, go to ALZ.org, sign up to be a team captain, team member or to walk as an individual. The website also outlines the CDC guidelines and recommendations from health officials for those deciding to walk with any team members outside their household.

There is no fee to register, but those who walk are encouraged to raise funds to enable the organization to continue to provide care, support and research to find a cure.

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

Presenting sponsors for the 2020 walk are Edward Jones and CVS Health. The Bainbridge Alzheimer’s Association support group will met Friday, August 14 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in a virtual telephone meeting. Call 1-800-272-3900 or visit www.alz.org/georgia to register and receive dial-in information.
