Priscilla Grace Barber was born March 31, 1945 in Bainbridge, the daughter of Fred and Ruth McDowell Barber. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1963, and the School of Business in Jacksonville. Priscilla worked many years as a paraprofessional for Decatur County Schools retiring from Elcan-King Elementary School. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

She was unmistakably beautiful and had a zest for life like no other. A natural cheerleader, Priscilla made everyone feel special. She loved her children (and all those “children” that were not blood kin) with every breath she had. Priscilla bragged on her children, your children, and anyone else she thought needed a word of encouragement. She dressed to the nines regardless of the occasion and made every occasion an “event”. Priscilla loved a good party and it did not matter if it was a formal affair or a tea party with just her grandchildren. She was a die-hard Georgia Bulldogs fan and let you know—win, lose, or draw. Priscilla loved unconditionally and believed a little kindness went a long way.

Survivors include her children, Dee & Greg Waddell of Athens, Ga., Michael Bailey of Colquitt, Ga., Nicole & Wade Kirkland of Brinson, Ga., and Kathy & Michael Chestnut of Iron City, Ga.; her siblings, Fred Barber, Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Blackshear, Ga., and Brenda Barber Martin and her husband, Larry, of Vada, Ga.; and her grandchildren, Drew, Hunter, Ashley, Summer, Perry, Caroline, J.D., and Charlee Beth. Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents.
