Friday afternoon a fatal shooting occurred just before 2 p.m. on the 800 block of College Street, where Alfred Lee Moore was arrested.

Bainbridge Public Safety was called to the scene and closed off Rose Circle to Russ Street while completing the investigation. During that time they learned the victim was James Lamar Guy.

With the help of Decatur County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit and the Georgia State Patrol, BPS was able to capture the shooter.

Moore abandoned the College Street area following the shooting and escaped to Dougherty County, where he was apprehended.

Moore was charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime.
