Christopher Steve Harden, age 49, of Donalsonville, Ga. passed away Monday morning, June 15, 2020 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala.

Private funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. David Williams and Rev. Bob Knight officiating and interment following at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.  Lanny Williams, Michael Kirkland, Doyle Carroll, Bert Adams, Don Gambrell, and Robert McMillan will serve as active pallbearers.  A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.  We recommend that those attending wear masks and social distancing will be required. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Seminole County Warpath on Cancer 200 W. 10th Street Donalsonville, GA 39845 or Bainbridge/Decatur County Humane Society 1250 Cox Avenue Bainbridge, GA 39819.

Mr. Harden was born in Bainbridge, Ga. on December 12, 1970, to Steve and Sandra Knight Harden. He was a 1990 graduate of Bainbridge High School and served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Harden worked in the maintenance department of the City of Donalsonville for many years before retiring and was a member of Iron City Baptist Church.  He kept busy baking pound cakes, buttermilk pies, canning salsa, pickles, pickled eggs, and various kinds of jelly.  Mr. Harden was affectionately referred to as “The Jelly Man” and his goodies were known as “Papa’s Famous….”.  He loved his family, his church family, watching the Andy Griffith Show and the Atlanta Braves (winning or losing).  His mama’s dressing was his favorite thing to eat.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kaye Harden of Donalsonville; his parents, Steve and Sandra Harden of Iron City, Ga.; his daughters, Erica Boyett of Donalsonville, and Lindsay Boyett and her husband Josh of Bainbridge; his sister, Dee Dow and her husband Michael of Donalsonville, and his brother, Wes Harden of Donalsonville; as well as Leahbeth Boyett, Cailyn Boyett, Brady Boyett, Peyton Boyett, and Emmalee Boyett; and three nieces, Madison Harden and her fiancé Alex Whitaker of Jakin, Ga., Erin Atkinson and her husband Jonathan of Donalsonville, and Teagan Harden of Donalsonville.

Mr. Harden was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Patricia Parker Knight and his paternal grandparents, Henry and Margaret Harden.
