Cheryle Woltman Ward, 75, of Woodstock, Ga., formerly of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020.

 

Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside funeral service will be held at Oak City Cemetery with Rev. Melissa Traver officiating.

Cheryle Ann Woltman was born April 22, 1945 in Savannah, Ga., the daughter of Paul and Evelyn Pollock Woltman. She earned her RN shortly after graduating from high school and practiced until her retirement. Cheryle was Episcopalian by faith.

 

Cheryle was a forever student and particularly enjoyed studying the planets and space. She kept abreast of politics and facilitated many intelligent discussions on a variety of subjects. Her first love, however, was caring for others. Her nursing career spanned decades, impacted countless lives and included being named the first female nursing home administrator in Jacksonville.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Michaelle Jonke and her husband, Alex, of Woodstock; and her granddaughter, Samantha. Cheryle was preceded in death by her parents.
