Following a tip of a suspicious person on Friday, May 8, Bainbridge Public Safety officer Gaston Corson arrested Brian Freeman for possession of methamphetamines.

Corson was advised by a resident that two males were walking around her residence and into a church owned building located next to her. Corson canvassed the area and found the two males huddled in the corner of the building, attempting to hide from the general public’s view.

Corson approached the men, identified as Freeman and Christopher Cobb.  While approaching the men, Corson noticed Freeman close a tan zip-up bag. Freeman asked Corson to open the bag back up to ensure no weapons were inside.

When Freeman reopened the bag, Corson observed a glass pipe with white/yellow residue on the top.

Corson told the men he knew they were about to do drugs because of the pipe he just saw. He asked Freeman to empty the rest of the contents in the bag. Freeman began to empty the bag, before pulling out the pipe and throwing it on the ground, busting it up. Corson then saw three black butane torches, commonly used in the consumption of narcotics. Corson radioed for an additional unit to search Freeman. BPS officer Tarow Barney arrived to assist, which is when Corson located a crystal like substance in Freeman’s wallet.

Cobb was also searched, but no narcotics were found on his person. Freeman was then arrested for possession of methamphetamines and transported to Decatur County Jail.
