On Saturday, March 14, there will be a wine, cheese and comedy evening presented at the Bainbridge Little Theatre from 7 to 9 p.m. It will feature an original comedy skit by Henry Intili, and will be in his favorite “rehearsal” style.

Intili described the plot as centering on a young lady and her brother who appears at her door, following a long absence.

He is dressed as a hippie and tells her he has been in Tibet studying Yoga.

As hers is a small New York apartment, he ends up living in the closet until his real girlfriend from Tibbet, Calif. comes and exposes him. “It works because it is set as a first rehearsal,” explains Intili, adding “Pure Crazy.”

The evening is sponsored by Todd Martin State Farm Insurance, and all profits from the $20 per person ticket price will go to two Bainbridge charities: Collaborative Impact of Decatur County, which provides health assistance and advice and to Supporting Hands of Decatur County, a group that helps other groups in their efforts to improve the lives of local residents.

Intili says BLT is planning a series of four Wine, Cheese and Comedy evenings this year in an effort to utilize the great space available at the theatre when they are not performing their regular four season plays.

The cast includes names familiar to BLT theatre goers, such as Kristi Raymer, Joe Livingston, Ida Cooksey, Jessica Bostick, Stephen and Marjorie Mayfield, for beginners. “The actors have fun, while the audience enjoys cheese and wine and lots of laughs,” he explains.

Tickets are available for cash or check only at the door on the evening of the performance.
