Mildred Brinson Chason was born on August 30, 1928 in Whigham to Maggie Hughes Brinson and Hansel W. Brinson. She was the youngest of ten children. She attended Whigham School and on July 31, 1945, she married Hollis Chason, who has preceded her in death. However, they were blessed with over 73 years of marriage, through which they raised six children. Mrs. Chason was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved cooking for her family and working in her yard, which like the inside of her home, was meticulously clean and neat. Her flowers brought her much joy, just as happiness abounded when she was swinging her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on that front porch swing on Lee Ave.   She was a member of the Whigham Methodist Church.
