The 2020 giving window for supporting Memorial Hospital and Manor through the Georgia Heart Tax Credit program for rural hospitals is open and receiving tax dollars in exchange for a tax credit for GA income tax payers.  This is the fourth year of this very successful program that is improving the financial health of 58 participating rural hospitals.

“Memorial Hospital and Manor has benefited greatly from the support of this program.  We cannot thank corporate donors like PeoplesSouth Bank enough, who contributed a generous $25,000 in 2019 and have already pledged their commitment for 2020.  This program has had a tremendous impact on our hospital. In 2019, Memorial Hospital and Manor raised $1,618,744 in HEART contributions, which we spent in the following ways to enhance the healthcare services we provide: purchasing equipment, making security improvements, reducing debt, and offsetting the rising cost of indigent care,” says Memorial Hospital and Manor CEO Jim Lambert.”

Hospital officials report there are future plans in progress to make improvements to the entrance of Memorial Manor nursing facility as well as the Emergency Room waiting area.  These upgrades would not be possible without the funds raised through the GA Heart Program.

“PeoplesSouth Bank is pleased to contribute and support our local hospital and its outstanding employees”, said Alicia Cone, Branch Manager.  “The success of Memorial Hospital and Manor is vital to a growing and prospering community, and PeoplesSouth Bank is very proud to be a part through this donation.”

Georgia Heart has made it even easier to participate now with an extended payment period of 180 days and no form filing.  For more information on how to support our community through this program contact Lauren Harrell at (229)243-6115 or visit www.georgiaheart.org.
