Mr. Cuy Abner Knight, Jr., age 77 of Jackson, Ga., passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020, devoted husband of 46 years to the late Elaine Ragan Knight. Mr. Knight was born in Decatur Co., Ga., to the late Cuy Abner Knight, Sr. and Ethel Missouria (Taylor) Knight. Mr. Knight was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, assigned to Air Force Security and served overseas in Germany and Pakistan. He was honorably discharged after four years of service as Staff Sergeant in 1967. Mr. Knight was an active member of Peoples Baptist Church in McDonough, Ga.. He enjoyed cultivating a deeper relationship with the Lord, helping others, good Southern food and horticulture, as well as spending time with his family; especially his eleven grandchildren. Cuy is survived by his daughters and sons-in-laws, Jill and Shawn Kook of Davison, Mich., Joan and Ashley Cook of Jackson, Ga., and Joy and Tim Boggs of Windsor, Colo.; 11 Grandchildren: Carson, Colman, Kristen, Kallie, Meagan, Sara, Kayla, Kelsey, Allen, Karis, and Tucker; sisters, Sarah Frances Harrison of Tallahassee, Fla.., Eldra Elizabeth Cutchens of Seneca, S.C. and Dorothy Latrell Goggans of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; brother, Winston Durwood Knight of Cohutta, Ga.; and a host of nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, Carolyn Virginia Harrison and Jerry Hilton Knight. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 with Rev. Shawn Kook and Rev. David McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private burial will follow at Jackson City Cemetery.
