Janice Thorpe was born November 19, 1948 in Climax, Ga., the daughter of James and Thelma Sadler Thorpe. She graduated from Bainbridge High School and earned her LPN from Bainbridge College. She married James D. Rabon in 1967 and they made their home in southwest Georgia. Janice served her patients through Archbold Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of Cairo Church of Christ.

Janice enjoyed cooking for others, traveling, and a good fish fry. She loved to sing and was partial to country and southern gospel. Janice was impatient and very punctual. She believed if you were 10 minutes early that was the equivalent to being 5 minutes late. Family was important to Janice as evidenced by her love for her children, grandchildren, and church family.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, James Don Rabon; her children, Angie & David Burnett of Jacksonville, Fl. and Pam & Trey Adair of Springhill, Tn.; her siblings, James & Sara Thorpe of Hosford, Fl., Mable Revell of Tallahassee, Fl., Raymond & Ann Thorpe of Palm Bay, Fl., Donald & Kathi Thorpe of Climax and Bonnie & Terry Parker of Whigham, Ga.; her grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany and Hayden; and a host of extended family. Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
