James L. “Jimmy” Green, Jr. was born April 3, 1940, in Decatur County, Ga., the son of James Luther and Adel Brock Green.  Jimmy was the definition of a family man.  He married his dream girl, Rosanne, on March 12, 1959, and they have spent their entire lives dedicated to one another.  He was of Baptist faith and was a member of Attapulgus Baptist Church.

Jimmy was one of the last remaining “old school” members of society.  He believed in hard work and working hard.  He was a bit timid, but mostly so he could listen and learn to expand his knowledge on any given subject.  Jimmy loved fishing and going to the coast, but nothing meant more than spending time with his sons and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Rosanne Green; his sons, Jordan Lee Green (Cheryl Ford) and Jeffery Curtis Green (Marsha) both of Climax; his siblings, Jerry Green (Kay) of Moultrie, Betty Jo Thomas (Delroy) of Climax, and Jackie Green Bradford (Charlie); his brother-in-law, Cat Veloz; his grandchildren, Justin Green, Nicholas Green, Darrell Bentley, Shane Bentley, and Shae Bullows; his great-grandchildren, Lydia Bentley, Sydney Bullows, Chandler Bentley, Grayson Bentley, Emilia Bullows, Gabriel Bullows, Lilly Simmons, Kaleb Simmons, and Virginia Simmons; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Green Veloz.
