Lady Cats come up short against Lady Panthers

The Bainbridge Lady Cats (3-2) had a slow start against Americus-Sumter at home last Friday night, but came back out for a strong second half despite losing 64-37.

The Lady Panthers had a 12-6 lead in the first quarter and built it up to a 23-12 lead by halftime. The Lady Cats had 11 points in the third quarter and 14 points in the fourth quarter.

In double figures for the Lady Cats was Taralyn Brown with 10 points. Other scorers for the Lady Cats were India Parris with 8 points, Detavia Salter with 6 points, Anndrea Porter and Denise Chappell with 4 points each, Marquita Jakes with 3 points and Destiny Turner and Kirston Noble with 1 point each.

The Lady Cats had a dominant performance against Seminole County on Saturday, Nov. 23, when they beat the Lady Indians 87-6 on the road.

In double figures for the Lady Cats were Detavia Salter with 19 points, India Parris with 17 points, Taralyn Brown with 16 points and Kirston Noble with 14 points. Other scorers for the Lady Cats were Anndrea Porter with 7 points, Destiny Turner with 6 points and Angel Peterson and Taniah Register with 4 points each.

Bainbridge hosted Early County on Tuesday and will host the Lady Tigers from Harris County this Friday to open region play. Tipoff is at 6 p.m. at the Bainbridge Gym.
