The annual Yuetide Jubilee will mark the beginning of the holiday season in Willis Park on December 5.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and have things for every member of the family to enjoy.

Special events coordinator, Megan Wimberley said there will be a lot of games and activities for the whole family to participate in. They can make s’mores, drink hot chocolate and participate in other activities by the downtown storefronts.

There will also be a variety of entertainment for all to listen to and watch while still walking around. The Potter Street Elementary School chorus will perform at 5:45; followed by the Jones Wheat Elementary School chorus at 6; the West Bainbridge Elementary School chorus at 6:15 and the John Johnson Elementary School chorus at 6:30 p.m. Lucretia’s School of Dance will then perform a holiday routine at 6:45 for all to enjoy.

The routine will be followed by Brandi Atkins singing “O Holy Night,” before the lighting of the town Christmas tree and an early visit from Santa.

Santa will be in town to listen to all of the children’s Christmas wishes, before they head off one last time in the park to finish playing games and treating themselves to some sweet goodies.

Wimberley invites everyone to come out and join the city in this family fun event and kick off the first of many holiday festivities.
