Jim Lavelle Johnson passed away from natural causes on September 1, 2019, at his home in Decatur County.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Southwind Plantation with Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating. Graveside services will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian Hatchett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Georgia Wildlife Federation atĀ www.gwf.org.

Jim was a graduate of Seminole County High School, Class of 1971, and earned his BS Degree in Marketing at University of West Georgia. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.

Jim had retired after a long career in the medical field, though he continued to serve on the Board of Stone Medical Corporation, a laboratory service company. He was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Tripath Womens Healthcare and Regional Director of Benton Dickerson Womens Health Care division as well as involved with other global companies. He enjoyed the outdoors and through the years had explored every corner of Lake Seminole as well as taken numerous fishing trips in Alaska and hunting trips in Iowa. He is loved and will be deeply missed by both family and many friends.

He is survived by his sister, Jennifer Johnson Lentz; a stepdaughter, Emily Wood; his nieces, Christin Camp Lumpkin and Courtney Camp Enloe; and a nephew, Adam Young.

Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Broom Johnson, his father, Morris Lavelle Johnson, and his sister, Jacqueline Johnson Brimloe.
