Last Tuesday at approximately 9:38 p.m., a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of John Sam Road and State Route 38 resulted in the death of Cynthia Clenney.

Georgia State Patrol records indicate that Clenney was traveling north on John Sam Road when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. She then struck the rear of Nathaniel Moore’s freightliner trailer.

Following the initial impact, Clenney’s vehicle traveled under the trailer before Moore could come to a stop at the right shoulder of the road and the trailer became detached in the median.

The Decatur County Coroner arrived on scene and pronounced Clenney deceased, however passenger Corey Wells was extricated and taken to the Medical Center in Dothan by Grady EMS, where he was treated for injuries.

Moore remained uninjured and had his freightliner removed from the scene.
