Rivertown Days will be here in the blink of an eye. There will be countless family fun activities for everyone to enjoy, however there are also new events on the horizon.

This year the Rivertown Days committee, the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and the FLW Fishing Tournament have teamed up to make Rivertown Days a three-day affair complete with vendors, inflatables/rides and music legends.

The festival will begin Friday, March 8 at 3 p.m., during that time the FLW fisherman will be bringing their first catch of the day to the weigh in station.

During that time, kids can begin doing all the fun activities that await them. Parents can purchase a $15 unlimited ride armband that allows for kids to get on all of the inflatables, climb the rock wall, use the zip line and ride all the other mid way type rides.

Friday night will feature two live concerts. Riley Anderson will perform at 6 p.m. and Mainstream Band will go on at 7 p.m., playing everything from classic rock to Luke Bryan.

Saturday brings even more excitement for everyone with events happening all day long.

The day begins with a 5K race that begins at 8 a.m. at the Smoke House located at the Boat Basin. The 5K will be followed up by a bike race that begins at 9:30 a.m. and will be a 1 mile bike race around the performing arts building.

Take a break in between the races to listen to BabyGray, who will be performing from 12- 2 p.m. and then guests can choose between FLW fishing expo from 12-4 p.m., the FLW kid’s fishing derby that starts at 1 p.m. or the canoe race that also begins at 1 p.m.

The canoe race will be at the Old Boat Ramps at the festival and can be signed up for at playbainbridge.com, along with the other races.

When all the races end, guests can head back over to the stage for the Red Hills Band from 2- 4 p.m. or the Flint River Band from 5:30-7 p.m.

During the performance times, festival goers have the opportunity to fly into the sky on a hot air balloon, however it will be tethered to the ground so no one will fly away, but still can capture amazing photos. This opportunity will only be available on Saturday from 3:30-6:30 p.m.

It costs $20 for a regular ticket or $40 for a fast pass that bumps guests to the front of the line.

The night will end with a performance by Colt Ford from 7:30-9 p.m.

Guests can listen to their favorite singer while holding up a cold one. This year The American will be setting up a Beer Garden for a $5 entry.

Everyone must purchase alcohol inside the Beer Garden. No outside coolers will be allowed at the festival. Once purchased, drinks can be taken outside the garden.

Sunday will end the weekend of activities. It will be open from 12-4 p.m. and feature the final day of weigh ins and FLW fishing tournament events.

Chamber president, Lauren Minor looks forward to all that the weekend has to offer and believes this year will bring in more people than ever.

“The fishing tournament is ideal,” she said. “They come two weeks ahead of time to scout out the lake and take advantage of our dining and hotels; this will definitely bring more tourists to Bainbridge.”
