James Fiveash Hilton was born August 12, 1937, in Bainbridge, GA, the son of William Newton Hilton and Mary Fiveash Hilton. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1955. Jimmy was married to the late Carolyn Bennett Hilton for 56 years. He was a gifted organist who shared his talent by playing for many churches in South Georgia and North Florida.  Mr. Hilton was employed through the years by Citizens Bank, Kaiser and Amerigas and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Jimmy liked to relive memories he made with his father. In his later years he found enjoyment visiting many of the places he remembered from his childhood. Family was always a priority for Jimmy and he especially doted on Carolyn and Doyle. He missed them immensely and felt a part of his heart was already in Heaven. Jimmy’s furry friends, Angel and Peewee, brought him much joy and he made exceptional effort to ensure they were cared for when he no longer could.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Bennett James Hilton, Maurie Lynn Hilton and Jamie Miller; his great-grandchild; and his nephews, Michael Kent Hilton, David Baylor Hilton, William Lewis Ankerman and John Harry Ankerman. In addition to his parents and his wife, Jimmy was preceded in death by his son, Doyle Keith Hilton; and his siblings, William Newton “Buck” Hilton and Mary Ola Hilton Ankerman.
