A concert featuring Steven Turner on the organ is planned for Tuesday, October 23 at 7pm at First United Methodist Church in Bainbridge, GA.  He will play the church’s beautiful 1987 Visser-Rowland tracker pipe organ.  Steven has been the organist at First United Methodist Church in Thomasville since 2013 after serving as organist in Pelham at Hand Memorial United Methodist Church for 10 years.  He has been involved in church music ministry for over 25 years.  Steven began studying piano and organ at the age of 5.  He took lessons from various teachers in his early years and was also under the tutelage of his grandmother, Eunice Turner.  During college he studied piano with Mary Alicia Cox in Greensboro, NC and then organ with Jonathon Tuuk in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Although his degrees are not in music, Steven’s passion for the organ and piano have been recognized through his ability to not only play classical music but improvise and write original compositions.  All will be featured at this concert which is free to the public.
