M. W. “Griff” Griffin, 70, of Albany, Ga., passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Casey Cobb officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Cliff Rex, Charles Milstead, Kevin Botdorf, Byron Botdorf, Paul White and Shannon Rahm serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Ivey Funeral Home. Maril Walter Griffin was born October 24, 1947, in Climax, Ga., the son of Maril D. Griffin and Hazel Harrison Griffin. He graduated from Climax High School and later earned several certificates and degrees from Albany Technical School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
“Griff” as he was affectionately known, was a talented welder. He loved to drag race so you can imagine the practice he had at putting his car back together. Griff enjoyed fishing and was an active member of Bassin’ Buddies Fishing Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Dana Rex and her husband, Cliff, of Albany; his sister, Mary Griffin Botdorf and her husband, Byron; and his grandchildren, Rayna Rex, Nyla Rex and Kierra Rex.
