After more than a five-year hiatus, the Decatur County Board of Commissioner unanimously voted to reinstate the county’s planning commission with seven newly appointed members at its meeting Tuesday.
After consolidating into the Bainbridge-Decatur County Planning Department with the City of Bainbridge, the county’s commission will be in place to review any needed updates in building, planning, environmental or other land use regulations that have not been addressed during the hiatus.
Appointed to the commission are Charles Hadsock (through June 30, 2018), David Conley (2018), James Cooper (2019), Alan Davis (2019), Dean Free (2021), Hal Earnest (2021) and Kelvin Bouie (2021).
The City of Bainbridge intends to hire a planner for the joint-operated planning department in October.
The last meeting for the Decatur County Planning Commission was May 2012.
