She was a graduate of Climax High School and a member of First Baptist Church. Catherine retired as Vice President of County Line National Bank in Miami, Fla. and moved back to her hometown in the early 80s.

Miss Catherine had a sweet spirit and loved to serve others. She was active in the Women’s Auxiliary at Memorial Hospital for 30 or so years where she never failed to share a smile and kind word. Miss Catherine read her Bible faithfully and became the hands and feet of Christ through her work with her Sunday School Class. She relaxed by spending time gardening or cooking.

Catherine is survived by her sister, Mildred P. Jones of Climax, Ga.. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Aaron Hawthorne and John L. Naylor, Jr.; her children, Judy Elaine Hawthorne, Ronnie Aaron Hawthorne and Larry Melton Hawthorne; and her siblings, Ella P. Jones, Roma P. Mills, Lloyd J. Perkins and Melton L. Perkins.

Mrs. Naylor’s family would like to extend a word of appreciation to Bainbridge Health Care Staff, Kindred Hospice, Dr. Sydney Cochran and Dr. Charles Walker for their care and compassion.
