Dr. Carl G. Garnett, 75, of Georgetown, Ga., passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Billy Pilcher, Jan Feldman, Sid Arrington, Jason Cone, Chad Harrison and Bill Gerber serving as active pallbearers.

Carl Glenn Garnett was born June 19, 1941, in Columbus, Ga., the son of Calvin Roy Garnett and Georgie EvaMae Stokes Garnett. He was a graduate of Elmore County High School in Eclectic, Ala. and Florida Baptist Institute and Seminary with a Doctorate in Theology. Dr. Garnett served Calvary Baptist Church in Bainbridge, for ten years and retired as pastor of Trinity Baptist Church with 21 years of service.

Dr. Garnett loved the Lord and had a passion for leading others to Christ. He was the spiritual leader for the family he adored and gave extra special attention to his grandchildren. Dr. Garnett never took for granted the beauty of God’s creation and spent hours enjoying the outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening and tending his chickens.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Helen Stinson Garnett of Georgetown; his daughters, Cheryl M. Harrison and her husband, Chad, of Ellaville, Ga. and Beverly S. Gerber of Destin, Fla.; his sisters, Oreva Lett of Montgomery, Ala., Mary Menefee of Lake Wells, Fla., Betty Houle of Davenport, Fla. and Deborah Lee of Wetumpka, Ala.; and his grandchildren, Brittney G. Pilcher and her husband, Billy; Brooke G. Feldman and her husband, Jan; Billy Gerber, Samuel Bowers, Brooke Cone and her husband, Jason; and Brittany Harrison. Dr. Garnett was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Timothy G. Garnett; and his brothers, Jack Garnett and Clinton Garnett.
