George A. Taylor, 81, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017.

The memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Dean and Rev. W. B. Glover officiating. The Men’s Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers.

George Aubrey Taylor was born October 20, 1935, in Atlanta, the son of Frank Taylor and Audrey Shellnut Taylor. George lived in Bainbridge for the past 40 years and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from Winn Dixie.

Many will remember George from the Meat Department at Winn Dixie. He always had something to share, sometimes it was a kind word and sometimes it was his opinion on the latest NASCAR happenings. George was an avid Florida State Seminole fan and proudly donned Garnet and Gold every chance he got. He kept up with news, sports and his favorite shows from his easy chair right in front of his favorite device, his television.

Survivors include his daughter, Stacie Taylor of Brinson, Ga., and his brother, Tommy Taylor of Smyrna, Ga.. George was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Glover Taylor.
