The smell of smoke and barbecue will once again abound at the Earle May Boat Basin as teams compete in the fourth annual Flames on Flint competition during Rivertown Days. The festival will be held March 10-11 and feature some of the best barbecue teams from around the country.

Two-time World Grand Champion Johnny Trigg and his team the Smoking Triggers are retuning for the second straight year. Last year’s champion, Shake n’ Bake from St. Louis, Missouri, will also be returning. Roughly 85-percent of the teams competing this season are retuning from previous years. There is a total payout of $50,000 in the completion with the Grand Champion taking home $10,000 and the winner in each of the four meat categories taking home $1,000.
