H.Glenn Strickland

Glenn Strickland, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.   He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Attapulgus, Georgia, on December 27, 1936, to Lenwood and Isa Strickland.

Glenn proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1954 until his retirement in July of 1977. In 1982 he was employed by Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and retired in 2001. He was an avid golfer. Glenn loved God, his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a very kind and generous individual. Glenn was a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Tallahassee.

Glenn was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda McGee; his parents, Lenwood and Isa Strickland; and, his brother, Herbert Strickland.

He is survived by the love of his life, wife Rosa Strickland; son, Rick Strickland (Debbie); daughter, Beverly Cowart (Randy); nine Grandchildren: Justin McGee (Katie); Patrick McGee (Katie); Stuart McGee (Erica); Jayson Strickland (Sara); Sean Strickland (Casey); Dawn Gorman (Rick); Robbie Altice; Kimberly Greenberg (Don); and, Callie Scott (John); and, Twelve Great Grandchildren. Also surviving him is a sister, Virginia Curry (Hugh); sister-in-law, Jackie Strickland; and, numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, 3413 Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, Florida, on Monday, January 23, 2017, at 12:30 p.m., with visitation starting at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Tallahassee National Cemetery, Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Florida 32322.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1669 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, Florida 32308; or, Chapel Hill Baptist Church, 3413 Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32303.
