Wyatt Brackin, age 90, of Iron City, Ga., passed away Monday, August 1, 2016, at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Brackin will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 2 p.m. at New Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church in Iron City, Ga. with Rev. Lyle Brackin, Rev, Joe Murkerson, and Rev. Tony Mock officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, August 2, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.

Mr. Brackin was born in Headland, Ala. on January 9, 1926, to Tom Brackin and Ida Elmore Brackin.  He served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII.  Mr. Brackin worked for several years at Amoco Fabrics and Fibers as an inventory clerk, as well as doing some farming.  He loved fishing and spending time with his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Keith Brackin of Iron City, Phil Brackin and wife Vickie of Bainbridge, Ga., Ray Brackin and wife Joy of Iron City,  Tim Brackin and wife Lujane of Iron City, and Janet Whittaker and husband Steve of Donalsonville, Ga..  Mr. Brackin is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one on the way; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brackin was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Ida Elmore Brackin; his wife, Grace Brackin; eight brothers and sisters; and two grandchildren, Austin Brackin and Priscilla Brackin.
