Mary Evelyn Laing Jones, 69, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067-6411, or a charity of your choice.

Mary was born January 22, 1947 in Fort Myers, Fla., the daughter of Johnnie Green Laing and Lillie Belle Broadway Laing. She was a member of Beulah Thomas Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, antiquing, and morning coffee at Hardee’s.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Jones of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Lili Grace and Nicholous Rynn Merritt; her siblings, Charlie Laing of Climax, Ga., and Ella Marie McGraw and her husband, Vincent, of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania; and numerous extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Chasity Jones Merritt; and her siblings, J.W. Laing, Walt Laing, and Pat Moore.
